Botulinum Toxin-A

Botulinum Toxin-A, also known as Botox, is a toxin that blocks cholinergic transmission at this neuromuscular junction by inhibiting the release of acetylcholine from peripheral nerve endings. It binds to the cholinergic nerve terminals, translocation of the light chain part of the molecule into cytosol of the nerve terminal, and enzymatic cleavage of SNAP25 protein needed for the release of ACH.  Botox can be used to treat a variety of conditions.

Dermal Fillers

As we age our facial structure changes. These changes include skin-thinning & diminishing elasticity, fat shifting, muscles acting on skin to produce lines and folds, and bone volume diminishes. One way to correct these problems is with dermal fillers.  Dermal fillers are made with hyaluronic acid, which is a naturally occurring polysaccharide polymer that retains water. Hyaluronic acid is a natural component in the skin, which makes it non-allergenic, natural look and feel. Hyaluronic acid is important to the skin because it maintains volume and viscoelasticity of the skin. The combination of a high degree of cross-linking and a high concentration of hyaluronic acid creates a 3D matrix structure. This matrix makes a network structure that increases the resistance to enzymatic degradation. The benefits of using hyaluronic acid dermal fillers are that they are biocompatible, non-antigenic, non-pyrogenic, non-inflammatory, non-toxic, non-animal, stable after injection, non-migratory, long-lasting but resorbable, natural looking, forgiving, and not too expensive.

PDO Threads

PDO threads require no incision, no tie back, only a small amount of local anesthesia is needed. They have a semi-permanent effect, with sutures that are absorbable in 6-9 mos. Immediate improvement of facial wrinkles, neck lines or other body areas. PDO threads restrain the skin and facial wrinkles from the aging process and can last up to 2-3 years. PDO threads can be reversed (RF & IPL Light Energies).

Smooth PDO Threads

Smooth PDO threads are flexible, durable, last 4-6 months, with higher resilience in the first 2-3 months. PDO threads are hydrophobic and broken down by hydrolysis. PDO threads do not lead to antigenic or pyrogenic reactions, generate neocollagenesis in the skin, and mild fibrosis results strengthen connective tissue of skin. Threads tighten tissue through “net effect” that results are noticed after 1-2 weeks.

Lifting PDO Threads

PDO Thread Lift is the latest treatment option for skin tightening and lifting as well as V-shaping the face. These threads are made of PDO (polydioxanone) material which is similar to the threads used in surgical stitches. PDO would continuously stimulate collagen synthesis under skin. When inserted into the skin, it acts as a “scaffold” for the skin which helps to “hold” the skin against the effects of gravity. These “mesh” of threads can also shape the face by lifting and supporting sagging structures. The threads are absorbable and therefore will be reabsorbed in 4-6 months time leaving nothing behind but the skin structure created which continues to hold for another 15-24 months. PDO (polydioxanone) is the material used in surgical stitches. Physicians started to use PDO threads, not for surgical stitches, but to insert in the skin so that PDO would continuously stimulate collagen synthesis.

Lipodissolve

Lipo Dissolve is the use of injections directly into the mesoderm to treat medical conditions locally. Mesotherapy is used for small fat pocket reduction, by making small injections into the area being treated.
